Karthik Ramaswami

As CTO of Sionic Energy, Karthik is responsible for leading the R&D organization to continue the development of breakthrough technologies, external collaborations and IP. He joined the company in 2023 and brings a hands-on, entrepreneurial leadership style with a proven track record of driving Innovation and Technology Development. A veteran of the battery industry with increasing technology leadership responsibilities and experience across a broad range of battery technologies and companies, Karthik started his career at Duracell in the very early days of Li Ion batteries and continued his leadership at Spectrum Brands and most recently EaglePicher Technologies where he was Director of Emerging Technologies. He brings a deep knowledge of the interactions between materials, chemistry, processes and their impact on product performance and safety. Karthik has a Ph.D. in Electrochemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.
